About Miriam

I am an eclectic individual with a deep passion for empowering people to cultivate their wellbeing and development through mindful movement and nature connection.

My journey into this work is shaped by my personal experience and professional background. With a Ph.D. in Innovation Studies, I worked in sustainability research within Higher Education for over 20 years, where I developed expertise in workshop design and facilitation for diverse audiences, public speaking, teaching, and research & evaluation.

In 2023, I made a bold career shift, stepping away from academia to build a purpose-driven practice that aligns fully with my values and plays on my strengths. Since then, I gained two additional qualifications: a Certificate in Personal & Business Coaching, accredited by the International Coaching Federation, and a Level 3 Diploma as a Mat Pilates Instructor.

Pilates has been a cornerstone of my own personal journey, helping me manage chronic pain from a long-standing sports injury and deepening my understanding of movement as a powerful tool for resilience and health. Walking, and being in and with nature - including in urban environments - has been an essential part of my daily life for several years. My own wellbeing depends on it.

Now I combine all my skills, professional knowledge and personal passions to create transformative experiences that support people’s wellbeing and development.

My approach is grounded in four core principles that guide everything I do:

Integrity – My work is evidence-based, informed by best practices and my love of learning. This is reflected in my own daily commitment to mindful movement and nature connection. I certainly walk my talk!

Social Justice – I believe that wellbeing and access to nature should not be privileges. I advocate for equitable, inclusive and accessible pathways to wellbeing for all.

Interconnectedness – True wellbeing is holistic and interdependent. I help individuals and organisations recognise the profound relationship of reciprocity between personal, collective and environmental wellbeing.

Sustainability – I’m committed to travelling sustainably, minimising resource use, and inspiring others to care for the natural world in everyday life.

Whether I’m designing a nature-based event, facilitating workplace movement sessions, leading a coaching session outdoors or guiding a mindful walking experience, my aim is always the same: to help people feel more connected - to themselves, to each other, and to the natural world.
